Mazda has teased everyone about an upcoming Compact SUV, which was due for world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show. As doors open for the Geneva Motor Show, Mazda rolled-out the New CX-30 at one of the world’s biggest motoring events.
The New Mazda CX-30 compact crossover SUV represents the second model in its new-generation line-up. The New CX-30 is expected to go on sale in Europe, from 2nd quarter onwards. Worldwide markets to follow, thereafter.
The CX-30, which attains plenty of similar fixtures when compared to the CX-5 and CX-3, combines bold proportions of an SUV with elegant styling that embodies Mazda‘s KODO design language. As with the previous CX-3, the new CX-30 inherits the ‘good’ side of the current compact SUV and input with new developments to engage its core target market.
Being a compact Crossover, the car’s interior stresses on a relaxed and user-friendly packaging and a cabin that comfortably seats four. With some emphasis on space, the new Crossover is deemed a good choice for small families.
The New CX-30 is shaped to be aggressive-looking and dynamic yet attaining Mazda’s core philosophy of ‘fun-to-drive’ factor. The increased height over a passenger car provides optimum visibility and makes getting in and out a breeze. Despite a compact body shell, the CX-30 makes it easy to maneuver. One particular highlight of the car is the side view, with its distinctive reflections. Highlighting the rear is the fenders from the inward-tapering rear cabin and liftgate with a narrowed arch shape. At the front, sculpted hood, LED headlights and LED turn signal take the limelight. At its introduction, Mazda has announced nine colors for the New CX-30, including Soul Red Crystal, Machine Gray, and Polymetal Gray.
Inside, two distinctive interior color schemes are offered. An option with Dark Brown accents is available as well. Mazda’s interior Human-Machine Interface (HMI) is ever-present in the new CX-30. The car comes fitted with a standard 6-speaker setup or a 12-way BOSE Sound System for the highest-spec CX-30.
Boot space for the new CX-30 isn’t too shabby at 430 liters, plus a power tailgate (depending on variant) eases loading and unloading.
Like its predecessor and current siblings, the New CX-30 takes up Mazda’s SKYACTIV-Vehicle Architecture, which encompasses the SKYACTIV engines (Skyactiv-G and Skyactiv-D), including SKYACTIV-X, and the latest technologies. The compact crossover SUV’s basic performance attributes such as accelerating, turning and braking have been dramatically enhanced. Either a stock Skyactiv-G 2.0 petrol, Skyactiv-D 1.8 diesel or Skyactiv-X is available for the CX-30. In addition, Mazda’s advanced i-Activ AWD works in harmony with G-Vectoring Control (GVC) to control the distribution of torque between front and rear wheels.
The New CX-30 has much improved NVH, top-notch safety features and the Active safety: i-Activsense suite to better driving and make the car one of the safest compact SUVs in the world.
