The 130,000th Honda Civic has been delivered to a customer, according to a latest Honda Malaysia’s release. This momentous record dates back to the 7th-generation Civic, introduced in 2001.  Honda Malaysia takes pride with the Civic, as it is one of the leaders in the C-segment. The 130,000th Civic was delivered to a Fatihah Abdul Kadir, who bought a Civic 1.5L VTEC Turbocharged Premium in  Dark Ruby Red hue from Honda dealership Botanic Auto Mall.

The 7th-gen Civic notched up more than 9,300 units and the 8th-gen has accumulated 50,400 units. The 9th-gen and 10th-gen have garnered more than 69,200 units. Of course, the 10th-gen Civic is still ongoing.

What makes the Civic so popular?

The Civic has been here for decades since pre-80s with the first generation. The model has progressed much with every generation to come off Japan initially. When Honda Malaysia took over at the turn of the millennium, the seventh-gen Civic was a breakthrough of sort in its segment. The arrival of the eighth-generation in 2006 put the Civic to its acclaimed status with a design that considered beyond its time and new technologies deemed ahead its time. That’s why the 8th-gen Civic had a cumulative sales total of 50,400 units during its active years. After that record number, the 9th-gen Civic wasn’t a favorite with the citizens, but the 10th-gen picked up the pace rather steadily.

The latest Civic is powered by a 1.5l VTEC Turbocharged engine, first in a Civic. It has a more exhilarating drive compared to its 1.8l petrol option. Obviously, the main draw for the 10th-gen Civic is the turbocharged variant.

It isn’t just about the engine, the Civic has its classy look with that familiar Honda flair to boot. Furthermore, it is equipped with a smart monitoring system to help maintain efficiency and performance. Other innovative features are Remote Engine Start, Walk Away Auto Lock, Electric Parking Brake (EPB) and Auto Brake Hold (ABH).

When it comes to safety, the Civic is loaded with 6 Airbags, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) and ISO Fix.

For the upcoming festive occasion, Honda is rewarding all new customers with special rewards worth up to RM5,000** in a festive campaign. The promotion from 1 May – 31  May.

The Civic has a starting price of RM108,165 wih the 1.8l variant. View or test drive the Civic at your nearest Honda dealership.
