With the implementation of MCO (Movement Control Order), Malaysians are urged to stay indoors at all times unless there is an absolute need to leave their homes - to purchase essentials, travel to work for those working under the essential service and emergencies.

Under the second phase of the MCO which began on 1 April, the government had implemented the “one person per car” ruling. Car rental company SoCar shares some useful community tips that Malaysians can adhere to, for the coming weeks and a promo code for those looking to leave their homes for important tasks.

For those living with family, friends or the elderly, do always remember to check with them if help is needed to purchase groceries or medical supplies because a little goes a long way, especially during times like these. Obviously, everyone should wash hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol content and most importantly, plan trips.

Clean up after yourselves

Drivers are urged to always clean up after themselves after using the cars by wiping the commonly touched areas. Car rental companies like SoCar, would do their part to curb the spread by regularly cleaning and sanitising the rentals. SoCar offers Live Chat to support customers 24/7, should they find any cars that need to be cleaned urgently. For the MCO period until 14 April, SoCar is providing a 50 percent discount (cap at RM50) for rentals. Use the promo code DriveAgain50 for both normal bookings and the SoCar-2-You service. New users are also  entitled to the promo. If you are within the SoCcar-2-You 12 major coverage zones, you can continue to opt for the service by having a car delivered to your doorstep.

Lastly, do remember to practice social distancing at all times when you are out to get your essentials.
