National carmakers Proton has unveiled the newest version of its Exora 7-seater MPV. The 2019 Exora is a large MPV that upholds Proton’s latest design signatures, both inside and out.
At launch, there are two variants of this MPV; an Executive 1.6T and a Premium 1.6T (previously the Executive Plus) priced at RM59,800 and RM66,800, respectively.
At a glance, the 2019 Proton Exora takes up a fresh front grille and has a black roof accent with a sharkfin antenna, along with a necessary rear spoiler, which Proton feels the need to add a llittle grunt to this 7-seater. To make it a competitively-priced MPV, Proton has decided to have a minimalist approach on the outlook and spurge on the interior offerings.
With emphasis on space, this 7-seater is an ideal family transporter with an affordable price tag. There are numerous small compartments, grocery bag hooks, a fresh meter cluster and more comfy seats to make each journey effortless. Aiding better family trips, the Exora now has a more complete Infotainment system, highlighted by a voice command ‘Hi Proton’, which essentially allows you to interact with the car, a 7-inch touchscreen, rear a/c vents, audio switches on steering, a borderless rearview mirror and a reverse camera.
Both Exora variants carry a 1.6 turbo engine that’s paired to a smooth CVT transmission. Output is up to 140 PS and max. torque of 203 Nm is achieved between 2,000 – 4,000 rpm.
Latest tech and driver’s assistance systems included in the 2019 Exora are ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control with Traction Control, front seatbelts with pretensioners and parking sensors.
The 2019 Proton Exora has a new Rosewood Maroon color, on top of existing color range. Proton disclosed that compared to the previous Exora; the Exec version now comes with benefits of RM4,233, while the Premium edition offers up to RM5,652 benefits.
Standard warranty and packages are attached with the Exora with free labor, road tax and value-added services; check with your Proton dealership for details.
