The Lexus LS is the newest flagship sedan from the Japanese Premium marque. Since the LS’ debut in 1989, Lexus has deemed the LS as a model that adheres to transformation through the spirit of constant innovation with new technologies. Lexus claims that the LS model has accumulated over 870,000 units in a span of three decades in 90 countries. What makes this model such a hit? The answer is everything from its design form factor to safety features.
The LS of today is inspired by the fifth-generation LS which debuted in 2017. The then LS had a coupe silhouette and offered an emotional driving experience. Now, the new generation receives more refinements, highlighted by the brand's Lexus Driving Signature initiative.
What makes the LS so desirable?
Let’s begin at the headlights and front fascia, the headlights are deeper to match the sub-radiator grille with emphasis on the squares. This gives the car a lower stance, when glanced at the front. Each headlight has BladeScan AHS installed below the newly-designed, compact, three-bulb lamp units and clearance lights. The light cluster forms an accentuated "L" design to give the dark metallic grille mesh some spark. Along with vertical character line at the corners of the front bumper and chrome trims, the front looks absolutely stunning especially in dark conditions. In the F Sport version of the new LS, the garnish of the sub-radiator grilles wraps around to the sides to denote a wide stance. Other F Sport exclusives include a dedicated color for the spindle grille and 20-inch wheels. From the rear, the chrome trim within the combination lights has been switched to Piano Black.
For the LS, body paint colors get some extra attention as well. The new LS has an exquisite Silver paint finish. The new exterior body panel color Ginei Luster is applied using the Sonic Method, which condenses the paint volume of paint containing radiant material (aluminum flakes).
Inside, the Lexus craftmanship stands out yet again. Highlighted by "Nishijin & Haku" ornamentation for the first time. The purpose is to create a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere within, as well as the unparalleled mobility experience. To give the inside of the LS a top-end feel, the steering and center console have been decked out in black, while the switches come in handy on the steering and center console.
The multimedia system in the cabin features a new touch display and is compatible with SmartDeviceLink, CarPlay and Android Auto. Convenience within is enhanced by, among other features, the ability to control the display screen and audio functions by a smartphone linked to the 12.3-inch touch-operated wide display.
The new LS features Lexus Teammate, which is the latest in advanced driving assist technologies. To achieve driving assist that provides occupants with a sense of security, the new technologies are part of the aim of Lexus to provide a safe and secure mobility experience. Further details of the new Lexus LS would be made available during roll-out when more details are released.
