Peugeot just revealed that the 2008 compact SUV would be the second model to be offered in a 100% variant, alongside the diesel and petrol variants. By 2023, Peugeot’s entire model line-up will feature an electrified version.
As with current Peugeots, beginning with the formidable 508, all models now carry a familiar fanged LED lighting signature to express an aggressive front-end. The latest Peugeot’s i-Cockpit is another regular fixture.
The New Peugeot 2008 all-electric or e-2008 is powered by a 100kW (136bhp) electric motor and 50kWh battery with a range of 310 kilometers (193 miles). Peugeot claims that the 100kW with fast charging will only take 30 minutes to charge 80% full, compared to 7.4kW and 11kW fast chargers that’ll take between eight hours and five hours. What’s more, the car works with MyPeugeot app too.
In addition, the e-2008 will feature two forms of energy recovery: selecting Drive “D” recovery and Brake “B’, something like KERS.
In looks, the e-2008 differs from the petrol and diesel variants in several ways: there’s a sparkling dichroic Lion emblem, an “e” monogram on the front side panel and tailgate and a body colored chequered front grille. Inside, the e-2008 gets seats in Alcantara (e-2008 SUV GT), 3D digital instrument panel with hologram-effect and more.
To back the e-2008 Peugeot will introduce electric focused services such as Easy-Charge (home/office), Public charge in Europe, Trip Planner, Mobility Pass, E-coaching via MyPeugeot app, Serenity and a whole lot more,
PEUGEOT 2008 PETROL AND DIESEL
The model will come in three petrol and one diesel variants (three-cylinder 1.2 PureTech petrol engine and four-cylinder 1.5 BlueHDi diesel).
The New 2008 line-up comes in Active, Allure, GT Line and GT trim levels. The GT Line and GT are distinguished by Full LED rear lights with three-claw signature, Diamond cut 18-inch aluminium wheels with colored inserts, a black trim interior, Adamite color stitching, mood lighting, 8 colors for ambient lighting, dynamic seats and aluminium pedals. Across the line-up, 360 liters is the standard boot space. A new Metallic color Fusion Orange will be made available for the 2008.
For entertainment, FOCAL premium hi-fi system is standard with the 2008 SUV; depending on markets. The SUV features the latest version of the Peugeot 3D i-Cockpit, with a compact steering wheel and a new head-up display.
Some of the new tech and safety equipment for the car include Drive Assist, Lane Positioning Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go (in 8-speed automatic only), Full Park Assist, Automatic Emergency Brake Assist, Active lane keeping assist, Driver Attention Monitoring, Peugeot Smartbeam Assistance, Extended traffic sign recognition and Active Blind Spot Monitoring.
