After months of teasing on its New Compact SUV, Kia has finally unveiled the New Seltos in India. Obviously, Kia picked India to unveil the Seltos due to its intention to penetrate one of the world’s largest markets. The Korean marque has also partnered eight major Indian companies to start production of the Seltos there. The Seltos is also built in Korea, of course.
As any compact SUVs, the New Kia Seltos gets a sporty look with the necessary SUV requirements. Recognizable Kia signatures are evident from the Tiger nose grille to the glasshouse shape of the rear. For lighting, the front gets full LEDs with DRLs and the rear has the lights with 3D multi-layer indicators, as well as LED foglights. Wheel sizes range from 17- to 18-inch in crystal cut rims, while tyres go 205/60 R16, 215/55 R17 or 235/45 R18.
Inside, the cabin has a bold impression and incorporates a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and Sound Mood Lighting. Other highlights include an 8.0-inch Head-Up Display, UVO Connect and a premium 8-speaker BOSE audio system.
Engine options for the New Seltos are 1.6-liter T-GDI turbocharged petrol, a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.6-liter diesel. These go along with three automatic transmission options: seven speed dual clutch transmission (7DCT), six-speed automatic transmission and a CVT. Drive modes applicable are for Normal, Eco and Sport.
As a worldwide recognizable compact SUV, the New Seltos comes pre-loaded with plenty of current safety features and a high proportion of Advanced High-Strength Steel components with a rigid bodyshell.
