Mercedes-Benz Malaysia introduces updated GLC range

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia ends the year on a high with the announcement of the latest-generation GLC. The locally-assembled Mercedes-Benz GLC is the core mid-sized SUV model between the compact GLA and larger GLE. The GLC range comprises the GLC 200, GLC 300 4MATIC and the top flight  GLC 300 4MATIC Coupé.

The newest GLC has its recognizable characteristics like the sculpted surfaces, chrome fixtures, redesigned LED headlights, familiar grille and 20-inch 5-twin-spoke wheels. GLC300 has even more striking details such as striking like black design elements, the 20-inch AMG 5-twin-spoke heels and Multibeam LED headlights, as well as a panoramic sliding sunroof.

 

On the inside, the Mercedes-Benz GLC 200 and GLC 300 4MATIC are adorned with the Exclusive Line and AMG Line packages, respectively. Both SUVs come with the illuminated door sills whereby the word “Mercedes-Benz” is illuminated in brilliant white, set in a  machined stainless steel panel on the door sill. The ARTICO Leather upholstery in both the SUVs makes seats even more plush for passengers. The MBUX is complemented by a fully-digital 12.3-inch instrument cluster with display styles (Classic, Progressive and Sporty) and the 10.25-inch touchscreen.

 

The 2.0-liter turbo pushes 197 hp) and 320 Nm of torque on the GLC200, and 258 hp and 370 Nm of torque on the GLC 300.

 

As SUVs, both GLCs have a high ground clearance, but the GLC 300 has Agility Control and passive damping to aid ride comfort and stability.

 

If you desire a more powerful GLC then choose the GLC 300 Coupe. Ths SUV/Coupe combo is an all rounder, paired with the AMG Line exterior. Highlights include sport aprons, 20-inch AMG wheels, Multibeam LED headlights and the famous diamond radiator grille, a Mercedes-AMG signature.  From the rear, the GLC 300 Coupé is fixed with an intriguing tailpipe trim integrated into the bumper and streamlined LED rearlights. The Coupe-like GLC takes up the similar 2,0-liter turbo. Interior offerings are similar to the GLC 300, saved for the leather upholstery and the light longitudinal-grain aluminium trim. Lastly, sports suspension with Pre-Safe system is standard on the GLC 300 Coupe.

 

The Mercedes-Benz GLC 200 & 300 are set to roll out to dealerships at estimated RM299,888 and 350,000, respectively.  The GLC 300 Coupe has an estimated price tag of RM419,888.
