The Mazda MX-5 has New Sport Tech/GT Sport Tech trims to kick start 2020. Both soft- and hard-top MX-5 are offered with Sport Tech or GT Sport Tech trims. With the two new trims, the MX-5 in all has 10 variants in 1.5- and 2.0-liter engine options.
What’s the GT Sport Tech
The flagship Mazda MX-5 decked in GT Sport Tech trims has 17-inch BBS wheels and Burgundy Nappa leather seats. The entire MX-5 line-up has a new Polymetal Grey Metallic paint, for the first time.
Mazda’s iconic Roadster has dynamic handling capabilities, known the world over. The 2020 Mazda MX-5 retains the same mechanical set up as what’s already available in the fourth-generation. The 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G churns 184ps, thanks to an engine with lighter pistons and con-rod, as well as upgraded camshafts, exhaust valves, fuel injectors, throttle valve and air intake. The updated components improve output by 24ps, compared to the MX-5 fourth-generation that came out in 2015. The 2020 Mazda roadster has a redline of 7,500 rpm, with a torque increase of 5Nm. A sprint from 0 – 100 km/h has also improved by 0.8 seconds, to 6.5 secs. On the other hand, manual- and automatic-transmission RFs are 0.6 and 0.5s faster. In addition, the tuned main silencer delivers a more powerful engine note. As before 2.0-liter with the manual gearbox have a front strut brace, LSD (limited slip differential) and Bilstein dampers.
