BMW is tantalizing the world with the announcement of the future Hybrid Sports car, in the form of the Vision M Next.
BMW Vision M Next draws its inspiration from the iconic BMW Turbo and BMW i8 plug-in hybrid. It’s got a future-focused interpretation of design elements such as the low-slung, wedge-shaped silhouette, gullwing doors and striking color scheme. The front and rear ends are finished in the matt-neon shade Thrilling Orange, to go with a Cast Silver metallic paintwork exterior.
Powered by either an all-electric motor or petrol engine, the Vision M Next is expected to output 600 hp and reach a top speed of 300 km/h. A 0 – 100 km/h dash takes just 3 seconds. There is also a BOOST+ mode that puts extra power on tap at the push of a button. The range, however, is only 100 km.
Interior-wise, the future sports car focuses on an interface between driver and car, face recognition and a classy, minimalist cabin. The cabin is decked in minimum leather treatment plus Midnight Blue microfiber fabric with Orange contrasts to bring out a sporty tone. Additionally, metallic surfaces in Titanium Bronze, a recycled carbon fiber roof and headliners with tone-in-tone paint finish are the other highlights.
The BMW Vision M Next comes with a Boost pad, featuring a steering with two small displays and an AR Heads-up Display. Drive settings modifications are performed on the steering, while vehicle information and BOOST+ mode are displayed on five clusters on the curved glass display.
As a possible self-automated car, the Vision M Next has this thing called focus logic. As the vehicle speeds up, the information centers increasingly on driving-related data and moves into the driver’s eye-line. It is possible to communicate with the Intelligent Personal Assistant at all times while driving i.e. to book a valet parking or get concierge to take the vehicle, park it and bring it back again at the desired time. All done simply and seamlessly using the MyBMW App.
We’ll see a further progress of the Vision M Next in the near future.
