Orignally intended for Geneva Motor Show debut, the Hyundai Prophecy EV Concept is the latest model to carry the brand’s new design language of ‘Sensuous Sportiness’.
Sensuous Sportiness is about extended wheelbase and shorter overhang. Further highlights of the design language are the bulging side section, curve streamline front to rear and a dynamic and elegant boat-tail line. In a nutshell, the ccncept looks like a Coupe reminiscing a convertible with propeller shape designs on the wheels and an integrated spoiler. Other highlights include pixeled lamps and acrylic materials in the spoiler, headlights and camera monitoring system, as well as a wide air intake is installed below the bumper to cool the batteries.
Inside, the concept has a stretched cabin of an EV platform. Instead of a conventional automotive interior, a lifestyle space of refinement and comfort provides passengers with a warm welcome. The “Prophecy” also utilizes autonomous driving technology. Instead of a steering wheel, joysticks provide a completely new yet reassuringly familiar and intuitive driving experience. By offering two joysticks that can pivot left and right, one in the center console and another on the door trim, drivers are able to control the vehicle from a position of comfort. Furthermore, drivers have access to a wide variety of functions, which can be selected via the joysticks’ integrated buttons.
Major interior highlights are the horizontal pillar-to-pillar display, wing-shaped dashboard, external intakes at the bottom of the side doors and Air Purifier with Clean Air Technology. The flow of clean air over the interior’s wool-based felt carpet is inspired by the flow of water in nature.
Finally, the interior’s colors and materials compel passengers to take time to decompress, aided by low intensity ambient lighting, while gently soothing modulated colors encourage rest and relaxation.
