As the main product in Ford Malaysia’s line-up, the Ranger pick-up continues to spike in the sales charts in the first quarter of the year. Ford Malaysia (Sime Darby Auto Connexion) reported that the Ranger gets 20.1 percent surge in the pick-up segment, reflecting 4.8 percent up from the same period last year.
With the addition of the Ford Ranger Raptor, the Ranger line-up now consists of four variants including the XL, XLT and Wildtrak. In all, there are nine Ranger variants to suit a diverse portfolio. The Ranger Raptor is offerd in a 2.0l engine, 4X4 high rider variant with a starting price of RM 199,888..The Ranger XL is considered most reasonable automatic base model in the market, with a price tagged at RM103,888.
The Ranger has been a household name when it comes to pick-ups. With a host of first and only in-class smart safety technologies in its segment, the Ranger delivers several things a passenger could not. First and foremost is the authentic 4X4 and off-road ability, water wading capability, a tougher shell, a brutish-looking exterior, high ground clearance and all-terrain mode.
According to Truong Kim Phong, Managing Director of Ford’s Asia Pacific Emerging Markets, “The ‘Built Ford Tough’ Ranger continues to define customer expectations in the pickup segment for capability, versatility, great design and comfort.”
