First-ever BMW X7 debuts in Malaysia

You’ve heard of the BMW X6, now get a load of the New BMW X7. BMW Malaysia today unveiled its larger and more luxurious SAV (Sports Activity Vehicle) with a starting price of RM888,800. The latest X7 now completes the X Series line-up in BMW’s SAV range, which includes the X2, X4 and X5.

In looks, the BMW X7 is instantly recognizable with the large kidney grille with slim Laserlights and LED foglights. Meanwhile, the lower part of the front apron has a trim element to give the SAV a wider track. Profile highlights include the shoulder line, a distinctive Air Breather in chrome, large windows, roof rails in aluminium satin and a flowing roofline. The rear doors are longer than the front doors, further emphasizing the spaciousness.

From the rear, the upright silhouette is visually defined by slim, L-shaped, 3-D rearlights and electronic boot lid, coupled with a chrome trim strip that links the two light clusters. The BMW X7 features two large, rectangular tailpipes,, and completing the package is 21-inch wheels in Y-spoke bi-color.

Fitted with a 6-cylinder inline, the X7 xDrive40i pushes 340hp, and a peak torque of 450Nm.  This allows 0 – 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds. An 8-speed Steptronic transmission is paired to the powertrain.

Its all about luxury inside, the cabin features a handmade diamond-cut trim element that is beautifully incorporated to the gear selector, volume control, Start/Stop button and iDrive Controller. The cockpit takes up a high seating position, a sport leather steering and adjustable seats and an impressive 12.3-inch instrument cluster. Additionally, you get the BMW Professional suite, Heads-up display, BMW Personal Assistant, BMW Gesture Control, ambient lighting, Panoramic roof, five-zone air conditioning, a Harman Kardon Surround Sound System with 16 loudspeakers and electric roller blinds for side windows, as well as a rear entertainment Professional system. For boot storage, space is expanded up to 2,120 liters.

BMW X7: DRIVING DYNAMICS

With xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), you’re ensured of an ultimate SAV. Plus, air suspension and a sturdy chassis simply assure the X7 sticks to the road. What’s more, ride height is adjustable, could lower by 40mm for off-road driving, while active roll stabilization with Dynamic Damper control makes sure you have a stable ride at all times.

More driver’s assistance systems are made available for this large SAV, including the BMW Personal CoPilot technologies (Parking Assistant Plus and Reversing Assistant). The usual suite of driver’s assist systems in a BMW: Lane Departure Warning, Lane Change Warning, Lane keeping assistant with active side collision protection, front and rear crossing traffic warning. Safety is maximized with Emergency Stop Assistant, Evasion Aid and Crossroads warning with city braking function.

The New BMW X7 comes in these colors: Mineral White, Black Sapphire, Artic Grey, Sophisto Grey, Phytonic Blue, Terra Brown and Vermont Bronze. The interior upholstery is available in perforated Black Leather Vernasca, Coffee Leather Vernasca and Cognac Leather Vernasca complete with Black dashboard, or Canberra Beige Leather Vernasca complete with Mokka dashboard. Sales for the X7 starts from September.
