How do you turn a large SUV into a cool looking ride? Well, BMW has the answer as they converted the X7 into a road menace with the introduction of the X7 Dark Shadow Edition. The predoninantly Dark impression of this X7 variant is made available to convey a sporty and dynamic side of a rather large SUV. BMW has, of course, beefed up the interior and on the tech portion. Built in the U.S., the roll out is set for August with a limited production run of just 500 units.
Let’s explore the BMW X7 Dark Shadow in detail. The Dark Shadow takes up a BMW Individual Frozen Artic Grey metallic hue. This special paint is available on a BMW X model for the first time. The paint is paired to the Dark Shadow Line finish (high-gloss black) which adds emphasis to the front grille, intakes and exhausts. This creates a subtle contrast to the matt shimmering body surfaces, also emphasized by the roof rails and sun protection glazing.
The X7 Dark Shadow is further accentuated by the 22-inch M light-alloy wheels in V-spoke design with a Jet Black matt finish. From the rear, this X7 has four rounded exhausts to indicate its performance attribute. The M sports exhausts offer a sharp growl that surely appease any performance car enthusiasts. Speaking of M elements, the X7 Dark Shadow is decked out in an aerodynamically optimized bodywork.
Inside the SAV, exclusive interior content includes Merino leather in Night Blue/Black with contrasting seams, Night Blue Alcantara headlining and Night Blue leather instrument panel. Black Merino leather is used in the lower section of the instrument panel and on the front backrests. In the center console area, the unique design is underscored by means of BMW Individual interior trim finishers in Piano Black finish bearing the edition logo.
In addition, the dark shadow X7 in the U.K. has standard equipment like sun protection glazing, Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround, heat comfort pack and a panoramic glass roof. HUD, TV function plus, rear seat entertainment and front seats with massage function.
Engine specifications follow that of the existing X7 list of powertrain options. The BMW X7 Dark Shadow Editio is available for pre-register in selected countries, with only 500 units up for grabs.
