As the MCO (Movement Order Order) is into its fourth week, the situation continues to  improve. With that in mind, the local Government has issued an order to enable some busineeses to resume operations. Following a recent announcement, several automotive companies have already taken steps to resume related business operations particularly after sales and service. Certain companies have already embarked on operations at selected branches, starting today.

The companies starting operations are required to follow the covid-19 standard operating procedures as instructed by the Ministry, including shorter hours, limited staffing and adhering to preventive measures such as social distancing and observing hygienic practices. The standard operating duration in a week follow the company’s particular decision, while the hours are usually between 10 am till 5 pm.

The automotive companies are supposedly starting operations today until the end of the MCO, which is 28 April. Upon the MCO being lifted, the business operations will resume as normal. All corporations will make the necessary announcement should there be any changes to the schedule.

Assist customers Electronically and By Appointment

Several auto brands have introduced chatbot (whatsapp messenger) to assist customers during the MCO. Authorized personnel are on hand to provide customers information about available models, promotions and offers. Now, service centers are available by appointment only. Customers are required to book an appointment online or use a chatbot, if available, to book an appointment for car service and such. Once service appointment has been granted, the customers will be contacted by a representative from a particular branch to confirm the available date and time slot. Due to the limited operating hours, the appointment is on a first come, first serve basis.

Measures initiate social distancing

The chatbot and online booking are steps taken to limit the number of customers entering premises and to practice safe social distancing during the MCO. During MCO, everyone is advised to put on face mask. As usual, temperature checks are adopted at all service centers and hand sanitizers are readily availa
