As the country enters its fourth week of MCO (Movement Order Control), everyone is very clear about the StayHome and social distancing policy. Cases of arrests were everywhere as law enforcers make sure the people abide to the MCO mandate. However, there are some exceptions like buying necessities, those serving the frontlines and so forth.
What if you want to sell your car and have a buyer ready to complete the transaction during this time? It is still possible although special arrangements have to be made. First, the buyer and you need to agree on certain terms until the MCO is over. Before you hand over the car to the buyer, it is your responsibility to ensure your ride is clean. Banks, JPJ and Puspakom are all temporarily closed, therefore ithe transaction would have to wait until the MCO is over. It is advisable that you should collect a deposit from the buyer and get the car prep for delivery. A letter of understanding would have to be signed, if necessary.
Clean the car before delivery
There are several hotspots in the car that need extra attention, when it comes to cleaning the interior. The ‘dirtiest’ surface in your vehicle is the steering so extra attention Is needed for it. Door panels, gear lever are hot spots as well as they gather germs and are considered frequently touched surfaces. Your touchscreen or infotainment display is another spot, as do the switches and buttons below it.
You might not realize it, but the car seat belts are ignored most of the time. The seat belts require deep clean as well, prior to car delivery. The car’s center console including the armrest and, cupholders is to be cleaned as well. Don’t forget about the car mats, boot area and keys.
On the outside, the wheels or rims, wheels and fuel outlet have to be properly wiped. When cleaning the exterior, it is important to clean out another frequently touched surfaces like the door handles. Do wash your car once a week and give it a good scrub.
As previously mentioned, when cleaning inside and outside of your car mild soap and water, car care solvents and solutions containing 60% alcohol work best.
Lastly, we all must do our part to be alert and adhere to this MCO during this curfew. Soon, it’ll all be over and we can get back to our normal lives.
