Proton is starting 2020 with a bang as they have just announced a new dealership in one of the State’s busiest townships, Puchong. Just a week ago, they unveiled the updated X70 with essential upgrades. Since their meteoric rise in the automotive industry from 2018, every one wants a piece of Proton. The latest dealership is operated by Lesydear Automobile in the township of Puchong.
Proton-Lesydear dealership, a 3s certified (sales, service and spare parts) center, is situated in Bandar Bukit Puchong which is accessible via the LDP Highway. As this part of town is highly populated and traffic’s constantly at a crawl, the Proton-Lesydear dealership would serve the residents and its vicinities well.
According to Proton, the new dealership costs an investment of RM 2.5 million to get it up to a 3s status. The dealership has a large enough showroom to house five display cars and a service area with 6 bays and 4 hoists. And obviously, a 3s dealership can’t be without customer amenities like comfy sales chat rooms, Wi-Fi, coffee bar, charging ports and a waiting lounge.
The Proton-Lesydear dealership rings up 120 dealerships in total for Proton, to date. Proton is progressing well since its Chinese connection came through a couple of years ago. With its newfound alliance, the National carmakers target to increase its network and upgrade existing dealerships. After all, they’ve climbed to second overall on the TIV sales charts in 2019, on the back of 100,821 units of cars sold.
Proton owes It to their star model, which is none other than the X70 game changing SUV. In every aspect, the X70 is giving rival SUVs a run for the money. Whether its technology (eSIM 4G LTE or ‘Hi Proton’ voice assistant), price point or features, the Proton X70 has become widely accepted amongst local SUV buyers.
Proton’s ultimate goal is to become one of the top three carmakers in the South-east Asia region by 2027.
