The 2020 Honda Civic and Accord were the talk of the town as both models claimed the limelight at a preview showcase, today. The Civic takes on some minor updates spearheaded by the Honda Sensing safety features suite. Similarly, the Accord for the local market now incorporates the Sensing suite to follow the footsteps of the CR-V SUV and Odyssey MPV.

The Civic is offered in three trims; 1.8, 1.5TC and 1.5TC-P. Let’s start with the 1.5TC-P, this top-of-the-line Civic gets a fresh front bumper with rear bumper garnish, black grille, spoiler and 18-inch black wheels, as well as updated front sensors and wipers. The main difference between the top Civic variant and the other two is the existence of the Honda Sensing suite. In addition, Lanewatch system is valid for the Civic turbo variants.

Moving inside, the cabin’s got fresh accented leather seats with foldable 60:40 rear seats. The driver’s seat is an 8-way adjustable. Standard features across the board are remote engine start and walk away auto lock. The steering switches have been refined for ergonomic reasons, as does the a/c switch.

The Civic TCs continue to utilize the 1.5l VTEC turbo with output at 173PS and a torque of 220Nm. The non-turbo Civic achieves 141PS and 174Nm of torque.

What’s included with Honda Sensing ?

The Honda Sensing suite comprises 8 main features: Adaptive Cruise Control, Low Speed Follow, Auto High Beam, Forward Collision Warning, Collision Mitigation Braking System, Lane Departure Warning, Road Departure Warning and Lane Keep Assist System.
